The Ovomly DA-Q d5-16 system is located in the Vulcan Gate region, 20,755.76 LYs from Sol.
It is the 15th survey candidate system in the original Canonn Challenge route, and was visited on day 24 of the Chronicles Expedition.

The Torus Mollusc is a ring-shaped organism with a twin set of tentacles that is reported to feed off starlight and convert it into chemical energy.  The mollusc appears to have little to no desire to move unless forced to do so as a result of being struck by another object. The tentacles appear to have a bioluminescent quality to them and were noticed pulsating in bioluminescent intensity at a consistent and predictable interval.  The Rubellum variant of the Torus Mollusc has bright red tentacles.  During the observation period, no other noticeable traits were identified.

Due to their relative small size, compared to other notable stellar phenomena, these mollusc can be easily missed.  A slow ship velocity and reliance on the scanner control panel readings from your ship’s sensor suite are strongly recommended to locate these organisms.
