The Eeshorks QI-B d1496 system is located in the Norma Arm region, 17,089.40 LYs from Sol.
It is the 26th survey candidate system in the original Canonn Challenge route, and was visited on day 34 of the Chronicles Expedition.
Expedition objective: scan and catalogue Luteolum Reel Mollusc.

Expedition Journal
The Reel Mollusc is a non-sapient, spacefaring creature that is aptly named due their resemblance to reels or spools, are protected by husks that reportedly shield them from radiation. The mollusc appears to have little to no desire to move unless forced to do so as a result of being struck by another object. The Luteolum variant of the Reel Mollusc has yellow / brown coloration with green highlights.
During the observation period the Reel Mollusc was noted emitting blue particles and energy flashes. The particles appear to originate from the central core of the reel. The energy flashes jump across the gap between the two reels. The frequency and intensity of these energy emissions do not appear to be related with the proximity of a ship to the mollusc.
